den to thank you for your letter MH/PT lio.61459 of the 8th April about the registration of students of the
University of Hong Kong and so inform you that His Majesty's Ambassador in Chungking is being asked by telegraph what is the exact status of the
University at present. His reply will be communicated to you as soon as it is
received.
2. Meanwhile Mr. Eden agrees that the procedures referred to in paragraphs 6 and 7 of your letter would not be practicable under present circumstances and he hopes that it may be possible for the Executive Committee to reach a decision on the lines either of paragraph 2 or of paragraph 4 of your
